C2E2: Spider-Man 2099 Returns

I don't know if you recall, but way back before we knew about the Doctor Octopus/Peter Parker Freaky Friday deal that would lead to Superior Spider-Man, there was a rumor that Miguel O'Hara -- Spider-Man 2099 -- would be making his way back to Marvel. Turns out that wasn't true... until now!

Announced at the Superior Spider-Man panel at C2E2, Marvel revealed that Miguel would be making his comeback in the pages of Superior Spider-Man #17 by Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman. Releasing in September, Marvel showed off a Spider-Man 2099 variant cover by Olivier Coipel of the issue.

A new threat is gunning for Spidey, and it's going to take two wall-crawlers to bring it down -- one just happens to be from the future.

Marvel promises that this is a big piece of the story that Slott has been building since "Big Time" in 2010, and that we'd be seeing much more from Miguel O'Hara in the months to follow issue #17.

Stay tuned to IGN for more from C2E2 and the full recap of this panel!
