Reggie Fils-Aime, Shigeru Miyamoto To Speak at Nintendo E3 Event

Nintendo has confirmed that COO Reggie Fils-Aime and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto will speak at a Wii U Software Showcase at E3. The event will take place in Nintendo’s E3 booth prior to the opening of the show floor and will allow press to try out Nintendo’s E3 games for the first time.

“This year, Nintendo is taking a different approach to E3,” Nintendo said. “We’re giving you the chance to get closer to the games through a unique hands-on experience at our booth before the show opens.”

Previously, Nintendo announced that it will not be hosting a traditional E3 press conference, but will instead host “two smaller events” in its traditional Tuesday morning timeslot. So far, details about whether or not these events will be broadcast have not been revealed, but we’ve reached out to Nintendo for additional information.

Nintendo has already confirmed that a new Mario, Mario Kart and Smash Bros. will be shown at E3. For now, read our thoughts on Nintendo's new strategy and why you shouldn't panic.

E3 2013 will take place from June 11th through 13th in Los Angeles.
